Year 7 Laptop Scheme 2026

Dear Parents and Students

Below you will find several important documents relating to the Year 7 laptop scheme which plays an important part in our educational provision.  It is important that everyone is aware of their rights and responsibilities through the scheme.  We ask that you read through this information and go through relevant sections with your child.

Once we have received your deposit and you have confirmed acceptance of the home school agreement and acceptable use policy we will be able to issue a laptop at the start of the academic year.

We would also ask you to look at the laptop gift aid information also on this page and would be grateful if you were to opt into this arrangement if you are able.

If you have any further questions about the laptop scheme please contact IT at help@sghs.org.uk

As a parent of the above student I confirm I have read and accept the laptop home school agreement and the acceptable use policy. *
I confirm that my child is aware of the contents of the acceptable use policy and relevant sections of the home school agreement and agrees to abide by the policies. *
Would you be interested in attending a parental evening meeting in September to learn more about how to support your child's education using technology, how to help keep your child safe and promote their well-being when using technology? *
If you came to the parental meeting how many people are you likely to attend with? (This information will help us plan how many sessions may be needed to accommodate everyone in the hall.) *

Laptop Scheme - Gift Aid

To support the learning of students we require them to have access to a laptop. You have been invited to join our laptop scheme by making a charitable donation of £17 per month.

On joining the school's Laptop Scheme would you wish Skipton Girls' High School to treat all donations that are made towards the scheme from the date of this declaration, until you notify us otherwise, as Gift Aid Donations? *

I understand that all such Gift Aid Donations will be used to further enhance educational provision throughout the school.

Gift Aid Donations

Please note:

In order for the school to be able to reclaim tax, you must pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax at least equal to the tax that the school would reclaim on your donations in any tax year.

Higher tax rate payers can claim further relief in their self-assessment tax returns on the donations made under the scheme.

If in the future you no longer pay income tax and/or capital gains tax equal to that which the school reclaims, or if your circumstances changes so that you are no longer able to make donations, please notify the school in order to cancel Gift Aid Arrangements.
