Ks 5 Bursary 16-19 2024
The government has set up a bursary fund for those studying at publicly funded schools or colleges in England aged 16-19. Funds from this are allocated to schools that can then award bursaries to provide financial assistance to help with post-16 studies. If you receive a bursary, you, or SGHS, can use the money to pay for things like:
- clothing, books and other equipment for your course (such as laptops);
- transport and lunch on days you study or train;
- Trips and visits.
The amount of the bursary could be approximately £1000, depending on your circumstances.
You are required to submit receipts to account for the way the fund has been spent throughout your studies.
If you are in receipt of Free School Meals, you will be eligible for the bursary. If you think you may be eligible for Free School Meals and are still 16, you can apply here:
